The sculpture was unveiled May 2005 in an elaborate ceremony that included the Millar family, Big Ben's breeder, Jacobus Van Hooydonk and the RCMP Musical Ride. This work celebrates not only our world class athletes, but the strong character of the town of Perth in the recognition of their own. Tony and Lynda Hendricks of Perth, the driving force behind the project, deserve their own monument, as their effort and faith were Olympian.
