in 2005, Stewart was commissioned to create a life sized portrait of Big Ben and Ian Millar. There is some reference to this project at www.bigben.ca. More detail on this project to follow soon.
Stewart has created four ten foot high bronze park features for New York Parks. Working with Mike Browne of NYC parks and Trystan Site Products of Ayr, Ontario, these one tonne pieces welcome vistors to a variety of park entrances. More to come on these pieces.
Among the smaller pieces from Stewart Patterns is this Award for Community Service designed by Stewart for Canadian Tire. This is created from Stewart's hand and his daughter's when she was 8.
More to come on bronze awards
Here is a project from 1998 that Stewart did with his assistant, Scott Watterworth for Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario. It is 7 feet high, in walnut with a ceramic face. Shown on the left is Stewart's digital rendering for the proposal. On the right is the real thing in the hospital.
